Concussion Injury Information

The following information is being provided to our coaches and parents regarding concussion injuries.

A concussion is a type of traumatic brain injury that is caused by a bump, blow, or jolt to the head. Concussions can also occur from a blow to the body that causes the head and brain to move rapidly back and forth-literally causing the brain to bounce around or twist within the skull. Sometimes athletes will not present with any clear signs that something is wrong other than not feeling "quite right".  So it's important to take any head injury seriously and remove the athlete from competition should there be any concern that he or she has a concussion.  Please review the attached guides for additional information about how to recognize a concussion and the steps to take in response to a potential concussion injury.
